 OSUN, ONDO STRENGTHEN TIES ON EMERGENCY AS OSUN STATE GOVERNOR'S AIDE, HON. OYEBADE VISITS ONDO, HON. ORIADE WELLINGTON ADEBAWO HIGHLIGHTS SYNERGY 



Ondo D'Gov, NEMA, ODSEMA, Ondo Fire Service, Red Cross Harp on Swift Emergency Response


The Special Assistant to the Osun State Governor on Emergency and Safety, Hon. Henry Deji Oyebade paid a visit to Ondo State on Wednesday November 27, and was joined by his Ondo State counterpart, Hon. (Prince) Oriade Wellington Adebawo, Special Assistant to the Ondo State Governor on Emergency Response.


Upon arrival, Hon. Oyebade and Hon. Adebawo were hosted by the office of the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Dr. Adelami Olayide, mni, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of Ondo State Deputy Governor office, Mr. Idowu Babatunde Ojo during the visit.


In his address, Hon. Adebawo said that Ondo state has experienced its fair share of emergencies, from natural disasters to health emergencies, stressing that they have  learned the importance of preparedness, swift response, and collaboration with neighboring states, hence the synergy being formed with his Osun State counterpart.


Also speaking, the Special Assistant to Osun State Governor on Emergency and Safety, Hon. Henry Deji Oyebade said that the interface focused on sharing best practices, identifying areas of collaboration, and exploring ways to improve disaster management and response in Ondo and Osun states as both states share boundaries between Bankemo and Ipetu-Ijesa as well as Okeigbo and Owena-Ijesa.



In his remark, the representative of the deputy governor of Ondo State and permanent secretary of the deputy governor's office, Mr. Idowu Babatunde Ojo spoke highly of the synergy being formed by Hon. Oriade Wellington Adebawo and his Osun State counterpart, Hon. Oyebade, adding that knowledge and idea sharing would enhance their operations in their respective states. 


The permanent secretary commended the efforts of Hon. (Prince) Oriade Wellington Adebawo, noting that he has continued to make significant mark in emergency response in Ondo State. Mr. Babatunde further said that the Ondo State government has been doing incredibly well in responding to emergency issues in the state. He stressed that emergency response should not be left to the government alone, saying it remains every citizen's duty to make efforts whenever emergency arises.








While speaking, the Secretary of Ondo State Emergency Management Agency (ODSEMA) Pastor Orukan Fredrick commended the state government on the strides made in emergency response. In his words, "As a responsible organization, we strive to be prepared to ensure coordination and collaboration to make sure things go smoothly when the unfortunate happen"


Also speaking, the director general of National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Ekiti, Dr. Kofoworola Sholeye applauded the efforts being made in Ondo State to prevent and prepare for emergency. He added that Hon. Oyedele's visit to Ondo State underscores the importance of inter-state cooperation in addressing emergency response challenges.



Present in the meeting were the representatives of Ondo Fire Service, Secretary of Red Cross in Ondo state, delegates of the Coalition of Nigerian Youth on Security & Safety Affairs (CONYSSA), among others.
