Prince Oriade Wellington Adebawo, Special Assistant to the Governor Lucky Orimisan Ayedatiwa on Emergency Response, has restated the resolve of the Ondo State Government, to safeguard the lives and properties of its citizens while fostering a secure and conducive environment for their daily endeavors.
Hon. Prince Oriade Wellington Adebawo, the Special Assistant on Emergency Response is taking proactive steps to enhance emergency management in the state. He's seeking a partnership with the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service (ODIRS) to bolster emergency measures and fortify disaster management strategies.
The collaboration aims to leverage ODIRS's resources and expertise to improve the state's response to emergencies and disasters. With ODIRS's support, Hon. Wellington hopes to:
- *Enhance Emergency Preparedness*: Develop robust emergency response plans and conduct regular drills to ensure readiness.
- *Improve Disaster Management*: Strengthen the state's ability to respond to and recover from disasters.
- *Boost Resource Allocation*: Optimize resource allocation for emergency response and disaster management.
This partnership is a significant step towards building a more resilient and responsive emergency management system in Ondo State. By working together, Hon. Wellington and ODIRS can make a meaningful difference in the lives of citizens.
The Acting Chairman, ODIRS, Mr Bayo Rojugbokan explained the pivotal roles played by the Emergency Response Unit, stressing the significance of digitization in streamlining emergency information and coordination processes, often in collaboration with private entities.
“For the state Emergency Unit to be here to Partner with us at ODIRS speaks volume. This is the kind of commitment you expect from a good side of the Governor who is ready to secure lives and properties of the Ondo State people. We will partner with the Unit fully, efficiently and effectively. We will assist in all ramification to ensure the unit succeed”, the ODIRS boss said.
Furthermore, Mr Bayo highlighted potential areas of improvement for the unit in emergency and disaster management, including fire services, environmental stewardship, rapid response initiatives, and ambulance services. He emphasized the critical need for adequate funding and streamlined bureaucratic processes in optimizing emergency response mechanisms.
